456K-458K is completed.
456K-457K has no primes. While 457K-458K has the 2 primes I reported. Results zipped up and uploaded. |

Ian,
Just a note...you may want to kick the n=446K-447K range on to a different machine within the next 1-2 weeks. The 5000th place prime is now at n=~442K. According to my best estimate, the 5000th place prime will top 447K before you are done. I realize this won't matter in the long scheme of things as for # of top 5000 primes you or NPLB has but I'd still like any primes in this range to be in the top-5000 DB for future historical reference even if they get on there and then drop out of the top 5000 within a few weeks. If you kick that on to a faster machine and reserve a current range for your friend's machine, you should have quite a bit more time. The reason? PrimeGrid's main k<10K drive started at n=450K so there are a ton of primes just above n=450K for each n=1K range whereas there are far fewer below it. http://primes.utm.edu/primes/page.php?id=89602 I didn't notice these until now because something went wrong with CheckForPrime and I didn't know it. I just rebooted today for the first time in weeks, so it started working again and found those two. At first, I thought that I had found two primes at almost the same time, but then I noticed the timestamps in the lresults file. (besides, with how my cores are split on this it would have to be on one core, which means a large time difference with that n difference) |

463K-464K is complete, 0 primes. I'm just waiting for 461K-463K to finish up as well and then I'll zip it up in 1 package. ETA is 2-3 hours so stay tuned.
![]() In the mean time, I'll be reserving 466K-469K so I can get started as soon as the rest finished. Last fiddled with by gamer007 on 2009-08-22 at 02:36 |
