unable to download Mac software

Everytime I attempt to download the 64-bit Mac GIMPS, the download hangs. Nothing happens. I try the Russian mirror site and I get a page-load error.

I'd be grateful for any assistance here.

When I download and run that program, a terminal window pops up with the following text:

This is particularly frustrating because it's obvious that someone has attempted to make a PC program work on the Mac -- sort of like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. I'm just trying to help the project here and the programmers are making it really difficult to do that.

Is this a PowerPC? The executable only runs on Intel Macs.

I have used programs like this before, SETI @ home on a Mac LCiii, extremely slow. However, I went to download either the 32-bit or the 64-bit Mac OSX to my iMac (2007 edition) and the download always stopped at around the 40% mark. I was able to download the Windows version OK. I am a traditionalist and would prefer the Mac OSX. Solutions?
