Use something like dyndns.org to get yourself a fixed DNS (sudo apt-get install ddclient then runs a tool to update the DNS entry when your IP address changes), and sudo apt-get install ftpd to get yourself an FTP server.

FTP uploads will be cut off if the IP address changes in mid-stream, but otherwise shouldn't be too much trouble.

Is it possible that you have exceeded your data-volume - or what your provider defines as "fair use"? In this case, some providers tend to "cripple" the line at the end of the month (and open it again at the beginning of the next month).

If this is not the case, you should contact your provider - maybe some technical component is broken?

Edit: Have you tried to switch the router and/or the connection box off and on again? Are all cables connected firmly?

It's been a busy week, so I've just let ECM and poly selection run. I've run a total of 19650 curves at B1=11e7, so more than t55 has been completed.

Also, I've run a total of 20 GPU-days of poly selection. None are better than that found by jrk. The ten best were

# norm 8.063916e-17 alpha -7.714490 e 2.416e-13
# norm 8.113333e-17 alpha -7.161245 e 2.417e-13

I would start the team sieve thread now if it weren't for the still unresolved issue of relation transport. How are things getting on?

What about using sendspace to send the files? IIRC, that's been working pretty well for all the team sieves done lately, and the only disadvantage over a direct FTP server is that each file has to be uploaded and downloaded separately, but I doubt that will be too big a deal.

Since this is a 30-bit job, with around 11-12GB of relations, it really doesn't matter.

I'll tinker with an ftp server this weekend. If the dyndns trickery doesn't work for my connection, then sendspace is fine.

Given that gnfs-lasieve4I15e takes between 8-12 days to sieve q in [x*10^6, (x+1)*10^6], we're at least a week away from the first pancake.

The sieving range is Q=20M to 120M with siever 15e. This gives about 25% over-sieving for a nice matrix.
Do I see this correctly - is this the best poly we have?

@fivemack: is your internet connection still that slow?

Internet still only accessible by iPhone, engineer coming Monday. All my cores are now devoted to getting 191-103 done before my vacation.

Question Let's get busy

Shall we sieve, using jrk's polynomial? Let's do sendspace for the relations.

I'm ready whenever.

So, how long until an iPhone will be able to handle post-processing?

Looks like a c145 is up next. I don't know how much ECM it's had. I've just completed 214 curves at B1=5e4 (25 digits). I'll continue for a bit.
I'm running 430@25e4 (30 digits), and P+-1 at B1=1e8. I'll keep updating the DB with my progress.
