Some time ago I wrote my own point counting code, and created a few curves. But in reality this type of operation is not needed often. The most used part is not the point counter. The algorithms are easily found in public resources, and writing some quick and dirty code that works is quite simple. But to make it properly robust and nice to use is the icing that takes the majority of the time to apply. And there is little incentive to spend time to make such things all pretty and polished.
