Yes, it has been mentioned here a few times already.

Let's note that the + expand option is a standard GUI feature, not just something for prime95. So it may be troublesome for those who haven't yet encountered it elsewhere, but that will be true for any first encounter with the + expand option in any software. Novice Windows users would typically have seen it on "My Computer" right away!

(Failure to recognize the + expand option in a different context may be a different problem.)

Vidmar:

By "can't see it", do you mean simply one's failure to notice that it's there, or is the little + in a box actually missing?

The latter invisibility might be due to use of something like the NoScript add-on for Firefox. In that case, one needs to select the option to permanently allow scripts on that particular page.

Sure, but let's not forget that just because something is standard in one context does not mean it is good to have for another context. In "My Computer" I am likely to have tens-of-thousands of folders if it is all laid flat, scrolling would be really annoying. Somewhat differently the website has only tens of links, scrolling is not needed (for most users) if laid flat.

My browser is Firefox with no particular add-ons. I have not knowingly disabled any option for showing such things and do not knowingly suffer from not seeing similar possibilities on other websites.

Each clickable expansion icon on the V5 server's web page appears as a tiny black dot - not visibly a plus sign - in a very small black square. I too only discovered the extra possibilities (to my great delight!) a few days ago and it was as a result of reading discussions on this forum.

I do wonder how the database will cope with the resulting surge in powerful queries if the web page is altered to make the icons more obvious.

Can't see it as in it's much too SMALL to even recognize that it's a plus sign.

The complaint about users' not seeing the +-in-a-box was only about recognition of a (GUI) feature. The +-in-a-box feature is a modern GUI standard. Prime95 has a GUI, so recognizability there should be correlated to recognizability of that same feature in any other GUI, regardless of whether the feature's use in Prime95 is wise or not.

Is this the size you all see? (pic attached) The plus box looks like a left arrow or something else to me.

The post about the menu on the PrimeNet site should go to another thread (including this one of course.)

The sign indicating an expandable menu is a + sign viewed from Feirefox 3 but a left arrow viewed from IE7, it changes to a minus sign when the menu item expanded. Sometimes the expanded menus remain so, in other case they collapse.

A nice change on the site would be an increase in the size of characters on all top producer reports except the top double-checks which is OK.

Okay. I didn't think of that; it's plain to me, but I long ago made accessibility settings to increase font and icon sizes from the defaults. So, one improvement (not necessarily satisfactory to some) could be to increase the sizes specified by the web page for the left-margin menu., but that may require tradeoffs with other page content.

You're lucky to get that. Here is what I get:

[edit]Note: This is really what I get in Firefox 3. I have not shrunk the font or any such thing. This all default for me each time I visit the site.

I've just switched to IE7. Still looks like a plus-in-a-box to me, but I also see how when reduced the plus could look like a left arrow, or a dot. When I right-click on it and select Save Picture As, the file name is plus.gif.
