"Time to straighten right out ... else you'll wind up in jail....A message to you, Rudy..."
That old Rock Steady number seems appropriate somehow. |

Hi all,
I play trumpet. My town has an adult band and I play in it. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, we have not met since February. Has anyone heard "Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee", music by Beethoven? I like Kenny Rogers. He sings "The Gambler". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hx4gdlfamo Tonight I found a parody of "The Gambler" by Don Caron https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQREBQzVhzw Enjoy, Matt Last fiddled with by MattcAnderson on 2020-12-13 at 08:20 Reason: added two YouTube links |

This is a pretty standard number (like Misirlou, an oriental exercise, often covered), but this one has just a right amount of syncopation for me (and Dorian, or is it Lydian? flavour)
Love it! |

Now listening to Helikopter-Streichquartett for the first time in at least ten years.
I'd forgotten how good it is and how much I enjoy it. The final five or six minutes are the best, in my view, rather like Beethoven's 9th in that respect. No words to sing along to, though. Last fiddled with by xilman on 2021-01-31 at 16:44 |

I, and my WMBO, have somewhat different tastes in "real-time" (imagine that...).
We both found The Queens' Gambit somewhat worthwhile to watch. Serious resonation with this. My mind seriously exploded when I coded up the Mandelbrot set in 6502 Assembly. For some weird reason, I can't figure out how to explain why this was an epiphany. Can anyone help me with this problem space? Like, seriously? They don't tend to be dumber than brings. But recently they've been presenting as so. |

Февраль. Достать чернил и плакать! February. Get ink, shed tears. Писать о феврале навзрыд, Write of it, sob your heart out, sing, Пока грохочущая слякоть While torrential slush that roars Весною черною горит. Burns in the blackness of the spring. ...and it was used in Regina Spektor's song (3rd verse). Good advice there - be afraid of the lame! |
