Tracy Tracy shyly pronounces that they had been described as "Blondie with Bollocks". Having seen them (The Primitives) at UEA in 1988, my description is Blondie and the Velvet Underground rolled into one. PS I also saw Blondie in 1977 when they were the warm up group for Television. Regrettably I never saw the Velvet Underground, but their first LP (Wharhol Banana, Nico etc) was the first LP I ever bought. David Last fiddled with by davieddy on 2009-04-02 at 04:54 |

I suppose the reason that Me and 99.94 have effectively
monopolized this thread is that we are supposed to be only interested in math (as they like to call it over there) I think I saw these in 1988. Bkew my mind, but this clip suggests I was two years late: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HZ7-Kj9Szc I did try to find a previous post which conveyed my first impressions of this group: I had read a review which opined that this music might have been created anytime in the last 20 years. Now that it has, make sure you see it. Their concert at the UEA appeared to be sold out so I paid a couple near the front of the queue slightly over the odds for their ticket. (1988). They went away apparently happy. What I saw I can only describe as a performance which was like watching Blondie and the Velet Underground simultaneously. PS But even better:) Last fiddled with by davieddy on 2009-04-03 at 13:20 |
