Most of the ranges in this area were tested by k-value instead of n-value. As far as I can tell, for the k's that were searched, all primes were found up to the point at which they stopped testing. Most people on other projects do not search all k-values within a large range like we do. That's why I had a confirmed prime for k=1531 but a new prime for k=1533 so close together. k=1531 had been previously searched for n=350K-500K whereas k=1533 had not been searched for n>50K. Although a couple of individuals such as Benson (for k=1003-1400) were doing it, NPLB's approach to testing huge k-ranges all at once was new for projects in the prime-searching community when we started the project. Now PrimeGrid is doing it also. That's no surprise. As an extremely well-run and organized effort, PrimeGrid picked up on the extreme efficiency gains in searching large k-ranges at once. As Max said, no, manual ranges are not included in our stats. But if you'd still like a range, just let me know what size and we'll send it to you. Along the lines of ranges, at this point, I would consider the 5th and 6th drives higher priority than the 8th drive. I'm going to post some manual files for all drives that need them here shortly. Although there will be less primes because of the higher n-ranges, the average top-5000 score per CPU day will be higher on the 5th/6th/7th drives due to almost no previously known primes and a deeper sieve depth.
