Agreed, and the whole MinGW, too. Cygwin, maybe... I've even started writing to that regard when texpad was mentioned, and then I didn't send it... It was too ranty*.
But even then, you can lead a file's tail to knowledge, but can you make him resume? /couldn't resist, no offense, just humor/ ![]() On a serious note, importantly, move the partial file away, so you wouldn't overwrite it accidentally. The siever doesn't warn you ever. It is a very spartan program. Also, if you can, add an empty line to the end of the partial file (I think deleting the last partial line is harder without a good editor). It helps when the files are later concatenated (some lines if stick together may create an ostensibly valid but poisonous relation ...with an infitisimal probability, of course). The rest of the good advices are already given. P.S. I'll try to "hack in" the resume option and commit it to the GGNFS. (Because I can, and while not very good at deep things, but small things I can do.)The assembly secret source holders, please, merge that with the other source and post the binaries at will. _____ *e.g. obvious perils of using shareware and not paying for it, "because I use it only once and the I'll delete it"... That's a slippery road. Anyway I think everyone will chose for themselves no matter how many moralizations will be recited... and I am not fit to cast stones anyway, heh, heh. |

The DH cult in this community had gone too far. _________ P.S. I've never known the origin of the phrase "what'chu talkin' 'bout, Willis?" only from the late 80s on a PC XT playing LSL, the original one (16-color EGA resolution )... and now I know! Thanks, wikipedia!

edit: I just noticed how close my avatar is to Bob's! (It's a damp hamster in a tea towel.) I'll have to choose another pet. Last fiddled with by Flatlander on 2008-12-16 at 15:03 |
