Default Windows Home Server

Do any of you run windows home server to monitor multiple home PCs running prime95 and if so, do you recommend it? I've never run a server, but from what I've been reading this product sounds very straightforward. I currently have 5 home PCs and I believe this software would make it easier to monitor prime95 on them. Additionally, it offers a number of other features such as backups, file sharing, remote login, shared printers, etc. As I understand it, you load the server software on a dedicated machine and then run different software on all the other machines so they know how to communicate with it. One question though: Is the server itself running on a true OS...meaning, can I also run prime95 on the server? I'd like to do that, but it's not clear to me that it works that way. If the server itself can't run prime95, then I'd set it up on an older single-core system. Advice/experiences appreciated.

It's an OS based off of Windows Server 2003. I don't know if Prime95 would work on it, but there's no particular reason I can think of that means it shouldn't work. (i.e. I'd assume it'll work)
I have no experience with this or something similar, so I'll just leave you with the info above.

No but I was able to easily set up File Sharing under XP and Vista so that whatever I deem as the "Head-PC" can see and/or change the files stored in the Prime95 directory. If that is not enough I suppose the next step before Server could be "Remote Control/Management" under XP or Vista.

I must be slow because I've never had good luck doing remote logins, including just now. I just spent 30 minutes with two PCs, side-by-side, running the exact same OS, and I couldn't get XP's Remote Desktop to work. I even followed the directions from Microsoft. Grrrr.

Years ago I managed to accomplish file sharing between two of my computers but it was always clunky and would randomly disappear from my desktop. I eventually gave up and just used a thumb drive, but I have to say this is rather pathetic for modern day computers on a shared network. I'm not a fan of Macs, but 10 years ago it was dirt simple to get them to talk to each other and I suspect it has only gotten better. Maybe I shouldn't slam all the network admins at work so much :)

Windows Home Server may give you the same problems that file sharing on XP/Vista has. Something to think about.

You may wish to try tightVNC.
