Thanks for the time being, 10^100+13 worked as it is an SNFS number and does not need poly selection. Which version of msieve are you currently using?

"Ther" was a typo.

for qs factorizations i have been using the standard binary but for nfs i have been using the modified version i posted earlier
here is the new compile
it is compiled for the pentium4

Thanks a lot. The dll was missing again but I had downloaded it already for the first binary. To save having two binaries, I will use that one for QS as well.

some of my previous compilations for various things have been half the speed
make sure you do a benchmark before using it all of the time for qs

i have realized that the binary i compiled earlier wasnt compiled with GMP=1 so it didnt have the new poly selection
here is the proper binary

So that's why I got the 5MB msieve.dat.p file! The old and the new look very similar. And when I could have a C101 GNFS soon, a good poly is important.

It needs cyggmp-3.dll, but I can't find that one anywhere on the Internet.

install cygwin and you wont have these problems
