(don't worry, I promise you another big GNFS at some point in 2009, but probably after the msieve-1.40 release to get the parameters for the polynomial search sorted out)
Did 10^263-1 get P-1ed and P+1ed? To what bounds?

I've no idea. It's been ECMed enough to find the P46, and I presume a bit further during the bdodson efforts of this year and last, but no idea about P-1 or P+1. akruppa, bdodson?

Any chance of a status report?

2,1618L had to be put on hold. It needs 550 cpu-days ...which I didn't have over this break. (Could have had 2000.) I only had ~200 which I used for some smaller numbers (XYYXF and two 3+2.xxx).

Would you mind trying the upload for a third time? It still appears to be truncated, the end of 89-90_b is missing

Sorry about that, how much appear to be missing?

It'll have to wait till I get home tonight, and after the kids are in bed (~12 hrs from now).

Turns out that, while there was an error at the end of the .tgz file, it was so near the end that it only killed off about one relation. The last line was truncated to

Code:
-76595336,226082759:5a2c2bb3,110C3,11E52F,5480BD,687CEF,820793,C20E8D,1EEF,55D4A7F:f29ea33,1fb1e95,42A195,25
but since 55D4A7F=89999999 that's not going to have cost very much in relations! So don't worry about reuploading.

Ok :)

I thought that the second transmission finished ok, so the error must be in the tar archive. Anyway, it's a moot point.

Looks like my office PC was turned off shortly after I have left for holidays. So when I thought that it could do a decent chunk of sieving during 2 weeks of holidays, I got nearly nothing.

Only 50M to 50882231 are done, I will upload today or tomorrow in the evening.

50882231 - 53M anyone?

Sorry to hear that your job didn't work. We've got more than enough relations already, and 50-53 has been the last-to-complete job for some time; it's not worth waiting any more. I'll do without it and start the matrix job tonight.
