I just noticed (I blame new job - I've been DEAD most nights after work, and haven't even gotten on the net a couple of those nights) the "go to first unread post" thingie.

Dunno why it took me so long to notice, this is the same software I've been dealing with on the 2cpu forums for about a year now.

8-)

All other thread headings look ok. Only the stickies look strange.

After reading all the threads, the icons next to the threads will change showing that I have read the threads. However, if I go to the homepage, the icon next to the lounge will still be yellow, which should indicate that there are still unread threads with new posts in the lounge, but there are not! ...
I posted earlier that I could click Refresh on the home page and update the new posts arrows. That works only 1 in 10 times.

Now I'm thinking that it only happens if there is actually a new "new post". Which would explain why it updates them when *I* post.

BTW, the new software shows my own new posts as "new posts" - which I like. The old software marked the post as read because it showed the post to me after I clicked submit.

Look at the far left, the envelope is yellow if you have unread messages in the thread. The next column is ??? And the third column of course is the pointer to first unread. Does that help?

For the teams forum it shows the last post as

27 Sep 2003 5:57am
by Xyzzy

on the main page.

Going into the forum however it lists this post

14 Aug 2003 11:08pm
by kwstone

for the thread

How many chickens do I have to sacrifice...

as the most recent.

Why isn't the 27 Sep 2003 post showing up ?

That is my fault... I was moving stuff around...

After I move stuff like that I'm supposed to update the database so it "knows"...

I just ran the update script and everything looks okay...

Default I can't log out

Has this happened to anyone else?

When I click log out, it takes me to a screen that says all cookies have been cleared, but I'm still logged in! I've even tried closing the browser right after clicking log out and seeing the log out screen, but when I restart the browser, I'm still logged in!

Are you sure that you are not logged out and automatically logged back in again each time you attempt to access the forum?

Also try clearing the browser cache to make sure that you are seeing the correct version of the page and not a copy that was previously cached.

It "shouldn't" be doing that, because after I log out, all the cookies should be cleared, and I shouldn't be logged back in automatically. If it is doing that, then it's a bug.

Tried that, it's not the problem.

If I log into the forum from a public computer like at school, I'm gonna want to be able to log out. No one else is reporting this problem, though, so I'm gonna assume it's a problem with IE or Win 2000.

Is there a timeout change?
The old bb would give me an hour before it would "logout" and mark all threads as read.
Seems to be more like 5 or 10 minutes now. :surprised

Am I the only one that gets font size 36 or thereabouts for 'code' tags in older postings? It's quite hard to read...
Example: second posting in this thread:

I we could set the timer to 3600 seconds that would be great. 15 minutes is too short given the interuptions I can get.

i dont know if this has been mentioned already or not, but the dont really create a "quote" thing similar to what CODE /CODE does. Instead of making it look like a quote the text itself is just there. Is this how its supposed to be or is this a bug?

You may have been looking at old posts, made before the software change. A lot of those don't look like they were able to be converted properly.
