Default Login problem

I logged in and got the "Thank you for logging in, 10metreh" message as normal, but I was redirected to the original page without me logged in. This has happened several times during the last few days. This appears to happen when I am viewing one of the forums, not on the main page, viewing a thread or posting a reply. Have the forum assistants played a part in this?

Do you allow cookies from the www.mersenneforum.org site ? If no, it might explain your problems.

Hmm...maybe your ISP just happened to rotate your dynamic IP address at the same time you logged on? Based on what I've seen, that would probably trigger the behavior you're seeing (though if it happened more than once, IP rotation is probably not the cause, since the chances of that happening at the exact same time you logged on to mersenneforum, more than once, are astronomically low).

However, such a problem can easily be fixed by checking the "Remember me?" box when you login. Even if you *don't* want to be automatically logged in when you visit the forum, the cookie that does the "remembering" should be automatically removed when you hit "Log Out". (I personally just leave myself logged in all the time, so thus I never run into any problems like this.)
