Oh, OK. I'll leave the leading edge as is in the 1st post of the NPLB servers thread. As usual, I'll go ahead and process the one that I was assigned. As you probably know, if I remember, I process a pair from your server every 2-3 days to see where the server is at, although sometimes I'll forget for a week or so. |

Don't worry Gary.
I switched 4 cores to C6000 to clean the lower candidates and to try to take the server up to 700k for k=341. |

C6000 is not working and I don't know how to open that port. This is so stupid.

Do I need to set up DHCP Server enable even when I have a dynamic IP?
The local IP address is 192.168.1.1 (login to set up modem) but I really don't know which IP is used by the server. I don't know which IP to use when to open port 6000!!!!?!?!?! Last fiddled with by em99010pepe on 2008-12-22 at 19:39 |

The IP for the router is .1
What is the IP for the Server? If it is .2, then route port 6000 outside to port 6000 inside to .2 If the server is running windows, open a cmd prompt and type ipconfig - it will tell you the IP it's using. If you want to hardcode the IP to the Server, go into networking, put in the specific IP you want to use, i.e. .2, setup the rest of the information... I would turn on DHCP in the router, there is a place to assign an IP to a specific MAX address. ipconfig /all will give you the MAC address on the Server. Gateway IP is 192.168.1.1 as DHCP server.
I don't know what are you talking about, I am ignorant. |

Assuming you're on Windows, open a command prompt (Window+R > type 'cmd' > press Enter) and type 'ipconfig' and press enter to see your server's IP. Now you need to tell the router to open port 6000 to that IP. For that, unless you can figure it out, we need to know your router's model number.

The Local IP address of .1 is for the router (as you may have guessed).
Use ipconfig to find your server's IP (if you have it set to DHCP you should set it manually instead so it won't change) then go into your router's settings, click the Applications & Gaming link near the top, click Single Port Forwarding, and use 6000 as the Internal and External Port and TCP as the Protocol with some name and your server's IP. Here's a thing with pics for doing the same thing but a port range : http://www.portforward.com/english/r.../mIRC_Chat.htm Last fiddled with by Mini-Geek on 2008-12-22 at 21:53 |
