Use a different internal port number and route 443 to the new internal server port...
You all hit my router with 400, it gets routed to 9000 where the server is. ;) |

At least based on what I see on my Linksys router, there's an option under the "Administration" tab for enabling/disabling the remote management setting. Either disable it, or set it to use a different port. |

It's true that he is using a well known port...
https 443/tcp http protocol over TLS/SSL https 443/udp http protocol over TLS/SSL https 443/sctp HTTPS Something I avoid as much as possible. Last fiddled with by IronBits on 2008-12-18 at 03:11 |

Last night I had the new modem running but then I changed something and the machine couldn't recognize it anymore. I even tried to install the old modem but nothing happened. Today I managed to install the old one so next weekend I will play a little with the new modem. Sorry for having my home machine shutdown for the night and not helping Drive 1. Now everything is up and running with the old modem...lol Annoys me very much to easily install an internal ADSL modem but not an external one. Carlos |

I think using port 4000 would make it easy to confuse with my currently existing port 4000. Anything except for port 400, 4000, 5000, and 8000 is fine with me. We'll use port 8000 on my machine for the k=1005-2000 for n=350K-500K effort. Gary |

C443 is now C6000 (something wrong with port 7000). Tomorrow it will go down.

New modem installed and C443 now running as C6000. I suggest all clients to move from port 443 to 6000. Thanks!

OK, I just ran a test on port 6000 and it worked fine so I'll complete the k/n pair that I was assigned. But I'm confused:
Yesterday morning, port 443 handed out n=693410 for k=341 so that is where I showed it's current testing limit in the "Servers for NPLB" thread. Now, port 6000 handed out n=645718 for k=341. Which is it? Are there a few abandoned k/n pairs for n=640K-650K that need to be cleared out? If so, what is the true leading edge of the server? That is what I reflect in that thread. If there are just a few abandonded pairs, I can let my slow laptop here plug away for a few hours to clear some of them out if needed so that the server is back to handing out n>690K again. Thanks, Gary |

There are a few candidates left behind when Jokern and Kman1293 moved to IB400. Don't worry, I'll clean those ones.
