OK, anyone now connected to port 400; please move your cores to my port 4000 that is maintained by Max. Lennart if you're on and see this before David comes back on, you can try moving your machines to port 4000. If you try your Proxy server, please limit it to 15-25 pairs at a time to be safe.

For everyone, here are the particulars for port 4000:

server = "nplb-gb1.no-ip.org"
port = 4000

Carlos...changed my mind a bit; I'm putting 12 fast and 2 slow on port 443. The other 28 are going to port 4000. Do you have plenty of work in there for the rally? I haven't checked the rate per hour.

It's funny (or annoying depending on how you look at it) immediately after I send a huge range to port 400 assuming that everything is working perfectly and that we'll process a huge chunk of it with the rally, it goes down. Oh well, after it's all done, we'll have a nice large gap to fill there.

Ok, I'm on:
server = "nplb-gb1.no-ip.org"
port = 4000
Rejected pairs coming your way!

Now I can't get out of my head:

"Rejected Pairs"
Coming soon to a server near you.

Gary, C443 still has 20,000 pairs available. BTW, check your PM, you found a prime!

Cool. 10000+ pairs since a prime on port 400 and I move to 443 and get one within the first 100-200 tests. Go figure!

Okay, cool. G4000 seems to be handling its load fine so far (just got home right now, so I wasn't monitoring it for the last number of hours), and the sockets aren't going berserk either; maybe having the proxy set to send 8 results at a time really is a workable solution to this.

David, I just checked IB400 and noticed that it is back up again. I presume that it's OK now for users to put their cores back on that server again? Edit: Never mind, you just posted this exact same thing as I was writing my message.

Well, one thing for sure is, G4000 sure is getting a good workout with all this!

OK, I'll move all my machines back over to port 400 within the next 1-2 hours after clearing out the cache on ports 443 and 4000.

It's nice to know that port 4000 could handle a big load.

Hang around awhile Lennart. It looks like things are worked out and ports 400 and 4000 can handle the load with you sending 8 at a time. Thanks for working with us.

This is a very good idea. Max, when we run the next rally (I'm thinking the weekend before Christmas), remind me to put a note in the main posting about no proxy servers for > 30 cores -or- to only cache up to ~30 pairs at once.

Perhaps only caching 8 at a time like Lennart is now doing is the best.

I would think creating multiple proxy servers, with 20-25 fast clients each, should be more than enough to simplify the moving of cores around to different projects.
We can always toss some knpairs on another port (5000?) so Lennart can play with his proxy settings to see if he can find the optimal solution for his needs.
