Perhaps that says more about the length of the typical French vacation than anything else. :)

(Sorry, couldn't resist, once you just hung it out there like that, so juicy and ripe for the plucking.)

Nice to see you back on Le Forum, Tony!

Is anyone checking for matching residues?

That took 5 days. At this rate, the whole test will take about 17 days, giving an estimated completion date of Sept. 13. So it seems that Gilchrist was indeed estimated to finish on Sept. 12 and Ernst on Sept. 8.

Let the guessing continue...

I don't know about you mate but I'd much rather have French length vacations than the measly US length ones. I've experienced both and believe me the French length is a lot more fun!

Did you get the big machine for the verification?

You are clutching at straws here.
We don't know exactly when Jeff began, and his system
isn't working flat out.
Mersenne.org gives 12th and 16th as the latest estimated
completion dates.
If Ernst is the only other verifier, he has given nothing away
(unusually)

Oh yes ! We have so much vacations ! You cannot imagiiiiiine ! But we work hard ! So hard that the Euro is so high ! (Sorry, couldn't resist !!) And it is Labor Day in the USA today ! You ARE in vacations. And I was at work today !

Yes, I'm back... I have a look to the Forum from time to time...
I'm spending more time in reading (philosophy). I'm also learning singing !
But I continue contributing to the GIMPS project.

Seems that you'll check this prime first, Ernst. Congratulations !!!
Can you provide more information about what you are using ? (in private, if you want).
My verification has just started, but I have problems to have best performance. I cannot have the 30% improvement I'm used to have... My trick doesn't work this time !! I'll examine why tomorrow.
Never mind who checks it first. We've got a new prime, for sure !!

Regards,

Tony
