When a prime is found, it will be posted here and this rally will end. Thanks for the help!

I did not realize the forum's link was down. I just checked and it is available now. I also added a link (on our Project Links sticky thread) to the page you listed above. Thanks!

Oh, and if you're using Linux, I'd recommend you get it from the link that I posted in this project's "Linux build for LLRnet client available" thread, as the original one almost always just quits with a segfault error when you start it:

I'm adding a full 2.4 Ghz quad to the effort for the final ~27 hrs. After that, I'll keep another 2 cores on it for another 24 hrs.

Let's get that prime the last day!

Well it's the 24th here but I've stuck my quad on for a while.

A little less than 24 hours to go... for the curious, I'm using U.S. Central Time because of Prof. Caldwell's site. I will view the rally as a success if we submit a Sierpinski prime before Sept. 25th.

So if we don't find a prime, the rally will have been a failure? lol On the contrary, you will have wiped out a large primeless stretch.

Unlike bases 3 and 7, base 5 is a very composite base and is quite stubborn to find primes on.

Examples:

For Riesel base 3, there are ZERO k's remaining for k<2.9M! For Sierp base 3, there are ZERO k's remaining for k<3.5M!! Both tested to n<100K by us with 2-3 primes from top-5000 for n>100K knocking out a few k's.

For Riesel base 7, there are only 7 k's remaining for k<1M for a test limit of n=95K.

I've concluded that the bases where b=2^q-1 are very prime bases, which frequently results in very high conjectures. Lots of k's get knocked out but there are so many k's to find primes for!

The conjectures never fail to fascinate me with their oddities!
