Hi i had some problems with errors in a game and tryed everything i could think of to fix it. this happened after i uppgradet to 8gb of memmory and vista. i tryed Prime95 and got this error

what does it meen and how kan i fix it?

AMD Athlon AM2 dual core 4200
Asus GeForce 8800 GT 512 mb
Asus M2N-E SLI
Corsair Twin2x 6400 DDR2 2048MBx4 (8GB)

its 64 bit version of windows vista home premium. tryed to run 64 bit version of prime95 to and then i got this

You are having a problem somewhere in your computer. Here are a few things that can help figure out what it is.

Did you leave your original memory in when you upgraded?

Try downloading and running memtest, if your problem is memory, this can help find it.

Try one of the utilities to check your system temperatures.

What are your memory timings?
What are the voltages reported for your system?

These answers will help some of the experts here.

no i had 2x1gb before and now i got 4x2 gb.
do you know any good utilities to check my system temp.
what do you mean by memory timings? and voltage? my pcu should be able to run this comp. i got atleast a 600pcu.

The memory sub-system can still have errors, memtest link is still a good idea to run.

It has to do with your FSB and multipliers, etc. Run CPU-Z link You can post the data, this will help with the diagnosis.

It's not about the PSU. Modern machines can supply different voltages to the CPU and memory. The programs above can be used to read the voltages. With the CPU voltage effects temps and stability. Experts may recommend changes.

I am trying to get you to post enough info for those more expert than I to work with.

As for your memory configuration, from what I see Corsair does not have 4x2GB memory kits, so you have no guarantee that this configuration will work at all. Try using only two sticks (matched pair) of RAM and see if that works.

Sounds like a memory issue - P95 puts a lot of stress on the memory system, and it's showing up the cracks! Usually running 2 sticks is fine, but the stress on the memory controller increases when you run 4 sticks.

Check in your BIOS to see if you can reduce the timings of the memory. CAS settings etc. Or underclock the memory speed.

I used to be an AMD fan till I fried one.....open your case and customize your chip coooling...or buy a new computer....my intel duo runs great...i have a gimps number and im doing doing a private test.....100% cpu

http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=338074 this is the memory im using. its a 2x2gb kit but i uses 2 of these kits. i know my motherboard suports 8gb of memory.

tryed memtest but it says its not compatible with my 64 bit system.

RAM seems to be underclocked, are you running everything at default speed or are you overclocking or using some "turbo" settings in BIOS?
Have you tried sress testing with only one pair of RAM?
I repeat: there is no guarantee that your memory will work in such configuration since Corsair hasn't sold it as 4x2GB but 2x(2x2GB). Although on paper everything looks fine in reality it may just not work. You may have to further relax your memory timings, increase RAM voltage and/or chipset voltage etc.
As for memtest - it is supposed to run under pure DOS. Download an ISO image, burn it to CD-RW and boot your PC from CD drive.

i know it seems that they run on under 400 hz. i dont know why i have it on auto in bios. but tryed to set it to 800 in bios but no change

i got another computer here that got the exact same settings as me only it got 2x corsair and 2x TwinMOS 1gb so it has 6gb. tryed to take out one pair of my ram and put in my 2x1gb twinmos to but still got the broblem. but the other pc is fine :S we got same bios and everything. how do i relax my memory and increase voltage? i read somewhere that my MB only suports up to 1.95 voltage on rams. it says its on 1.8 now.
