I moved the posts about the rally from May 23rd-25th to a new thread by an obvious name.

Let's schedule a rally on server port 5000, we need to think on primes on range n=500k and above. I'm already there with 5 cores just to see what happens and of course I want to find some primes, they are missing on overall rankings...lol

One thing that should help with the load balancing: after some private discussion lately between Brucifer and I, we decided to have IronBits set up a personal LLRnet server for him, which he would run all his cores on during the rallies, and during most of the off-rally time too. It's for the 400<k<1001 range, though, so if we did a rally for port 5000, then Brucifer would be working in a different range. However, both ranges need lots of work yet if we're going to make our end-of-year goal, so I'm thinking we should do the rally on port 5000, a.k.a. 300<k<400, but also accept results from 400<k<1001 (a.k.a. port 300/400). How does this sound to everyone? Anon

Anon,
I am also thinking in the score overall ranking. As I previously said I can host a llrnet server, think of a backup server for the eventualities. Last fiddled with by em99010pepe on 2008-06-01 at 16:17 |

That way, to avoid confusion we can keep Lennart's server for 400<k<1001 only.Is port 5000 available for you to host a server on? In that case, then when we get closer to the rally, I'll send you some k/n pairs and you can get it started up on that port.

From some discussion that has taken place between Gary, Karsten, and I via PM, it looks like the weekend of the 21st is when we'll be doing the next rally. We were thinking of doing it on port 300/400, though port 5000 results will be counted too.
Does everyone feel up to another 48-hour rally?

I'll be on the road then with everything shut down. But by all means do your rally! :)

![]() As usual, I'll plan on putting both cores of my C2D on the rally, probably either on port 300 or 400, depending on which one has less load on it at the time of the rally. ![]() BTW, could everybody please specify, as exactly as possible, what you'll be bringing to the rally? It will be really helpful to have that information ahead of time, so that we can plan ahead and know how many servers we'll need to run to avoid another blunder like last time.

2 cores to whatever server would be best. As always, any time is fine with me.
