I'm looking for a free (as in beer) Windows IDE for compiling C/C++ files. I've used Dev-C++ up until now, but it is pretty obsolete and has not been updated for over three years.
I've heard that MonoDevelop and Code::Blocks are much better than Dev-C++. I've also used Eclipse, but I don't like it very much because it can be pretty complicated, does not have built-in C/C++ support, and still has some bugs (for example, error highlighting sometimes fails to update unless I save the file). So should I use MonoDevelop or Code::Blocks? |

I think it a matter of trying them both (and others) and see which one you like the most. It seems to be an individual choice thing, which I guess is why we all have so many editors to choose from.
