The range we've processed isn't extremely huge because it's 1/6th as many k's. We're processing a higher range than in rally 1. The odds of a prime are < 1 in 5000 vs. > 1 in 4000. Also, the # of k/n pairs should be less too, even if we have have the same firewpower.

When we have a 24-hour rally around n=500K, 1-2 primes will be close to the expectation with the same firepower...much longer testing time for each pair and less chance of each being prime.

Ah, I see.

Well...the rally has now been officially over for 43 minutes, and from the looks of it we made it to n=387K by the end of the rally--better than Gary's prediction of 385K, but a little lower than my prediction of 390K.

I didn't know I predicted 385K. I said I'd be happy if we got to 385K...more so if we got to 390K.

Note to all, if I have any primes, IronBits or whomever will have to tell me. 11 of the cores that I had on the effort are inaccessable until late tonight or Monday. I already checked my 6 slower LLRing home cores...no luck. Back to sieving shortly for those 6. They're much better at that.

NICE WORK everyone in getting us to n=387K!! We're now officially out of any possible danger in the next few months from the bottom of top-5000 line, which will likely start rising above n=333333 in ~2 months.

I think there are 2-3 straggling ranges on drive 1 that we need to be fully complete up to n=360K. Getting those done would be the next highest priority followed by completing drive 2. After that, we're pretty clear on all k-values for the project.

Yeah, that's what I meant.

I think you might have found one, I don't remember. If you did, though, I think either IronBits or Karsten will notify you (I forget who does that).

Woo hoo! How about we all try to pour our resources on the two Drive 2 LLRnet servers for a while, then? I'll be able to put one core on it either later today or early tomorrow (just got to finish a Sierp. base 6 range at CRUS first).

IronBits,

Can you give us a final status of the rally?

We need the starting k/n pair, the ending k/n pair, the # of k/n pairs processed, and the # of primes found.

If you want, I think the admins can take care of verifying who found what primes and sending out that info.

The last I checked ~an hour ago, there are 3 already known primes that should have been found that have not been announced yet.

Thanks,
Gary

I think Karsten will be generating the stats on # of k/n pairs processed during the rally and # of primes found like he did for the last rally, right?

Probably, they're sitting around in somebody's LLRnet queue, maybe that person has shut down their computer or something and thus they're held up. Regardless, they should be returned within a day or two.

I wouldn't know what I was looking at...

I've sent all the information to kar_bon and anonymous just now, so I'm sure they will be stating what happened where.

I'll close this thread on Weds. before I go on vacation. If there is any info. specifically related to the rally that has not already been posted, please post it before that time.

The rally was a great success! No server problems made a big difference and we now have k=300-400 up past n=400-1001 as far as continguous ranges searched is concerned, which was the intent.

Great job everyone and thanks for bringing those crunchers!
