Actually, I think I solved my end of the fiasco. I remembered that Windows has a service called DNS Client. It solves the problem of having to flushdns because when it's not running it doesn't cache the DNS addresses. Instead Windows resolves the IP addresses as it goes so changing your address should not effect anything. I found it in December and had changed all my machines to turn it off. Well, all my machines have since re-booted due to power problems and the service got re-initiated. This time I turned the service off and have changed the startup parameter for it from Auto to Manual.

Lets give the servers one more reprieve for the time being.

I'm actually rooting for another change to see if this fix works. LOL

Max,

When you get a chance, can you load n=700K-800K into port G8000?

Thanks,
Gary

Are there any instructions on how to get a localhost LLRNET running on my network? I want to load my own workfile.txt with some pairs and allow clients on my network to feed off of that. This are Windows Vista machines.

This is will not be a proxy server connecting to any of NPLB's servers (I hope).

Some instructions were posted a while back here. Feel free to modify them as necessary to fit your specific situation--specifically, I'd recommend decreasing the prunePeriod value to 1 hour or less, and increasing maxConnections to at least 100. (It's not like there's any theoretical limit on the actual number of connections it can handle, besides your available bandwidth and any OS-imposed limits.)
