The Email notification of primes is still not working. Here's one from today that I didn't get:
user=gd_barnes [2009-12-12 08:23:04] 2153*2^514076-1 is prime! Time : 2247.0 sec. |

AMDave,
Cipher had a prime today and I didn't get the Email notification of it. Obviously it has stopped working. Can you please check into it as soon as you can? Thanks, Gary |

I PM'd you re this issue several times in the last 48 hours.
I forgot you were travelling. Just jump to the last PM. I believe that I have diagnosed the issue. Preparing to pilot the solution. |

Test appears to be successful.
The last 10 notifications ( date >= 2009-12-01) should be arriving in their intended Inboxes now. I have already received and verified all of them. Last fiddled with by AMDave on 2009-12-15 at 11:45 |

In the PM, you said a switch needed to be set. I wonder why it suddenly needed to be set after working all this time? Thanks for looking into and fixing it. Gary Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2009-12-15 at 12:04 |

It appears that the ISP made a change that was not accounted for in the mailer config and thus it became an issue. Prior to that the setting was not required.
The changes are now fully implemented. |

I've now checked the Emails of the 10 primes against primes reported at top-5000 and listed here. Everything was reported and listed.
Thanks again for the fix. It's all good now. ![]() Max, could this have been caused by the periodic dynamic IP address changes? Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2009-12-15 at 21:35 |

LLRNET stats page hasn't updated since yesterday. Same for the PRPNET stats page. The ports are accepting stuff but there's no updating of stats. This is on Gary's machines.

I'm sorry. I would suggest moving clients to David's servers at this point. I'm out of town and it's not possible to diagnose the problem until I get back. The machine obvioiusly needs to be rebooted but I've had that problem sporadically in the past and it may have the same problem again.
It "acts" like memory is filling up because the screen "kind of" locks up and it won't write to any file. But when I looked at memory usage when I had a similar problem before, that didn't appear to be the case. Max, I last backed up the hard drive on Dumpford about a week ago. This is a problem similar to the problems I had then, which caused me to back it up. I have an idea: I'm going to dry remotely rebooting the machine and restarting the servers. It beats sitting here and waiting with nothing happening. Edit: That won't work. The machine is "kind of" locked up. That means much of the functionally is no good. It doesn't respond when I click on the restart/shut down icon. Edit 2: I also just now realized that I would lose access to it once it attempts to reboot itself so that won't work. I'll call Sherri and see if she can drop by the house, shut it down completely, turn it back on, and log in. I'll then see if I can restart the servers.
