Most of them were fixed k searches at the Primesearch site. Some were fixed k searches at Riesel Prime Search and a few here-and-there were people randomly searching where they felt like it. See the 'Come join us' thread first post for a link to the Primesearch site.

k=300-400 had been previously searched much more than k=400-1001. For this reason, when I concieved of the project, I was not even going to consider k=300-400. About halfway through my sieving of k=400-1001, I began to have second thoughts about it. When I found out that Karsten was also sieving many of the k=300-400 k's, that clinched the decision to do it after getting k=400-1001 started. Not doing k=300-400 would leave a number of nice primes behind. Also, being a lower k-range, the LLR fftlen will increase at deeper n-levels, allowing deeper searches at less CPU time.

The final kicker was when I realized there were ZERO known primes for n>600K for k=300-400, which lead me to sieve n=260K-1M all at the same time, which is why sieving of k=300-400 for n=600K-1M will be done in < 3 weeks.

I think it will be very exciting picking off n>600K primes as well as n>400K primes at the same time for the 2 different k-ranges of the project. Our 'score' on the top-5000 site will increase much more rapidly. We're now in 12th place there and it's a very long way to 11th place.
