Old Savefiles Not Getting Deleted

After program finished working on the exponent and reported the results, there are still pxxxxx and qxxxxx file left in the folder. These files have several MBs each so accumulating these can put some weight to the folder. Can these files be deleted or does the program deletes them on its own pace. Are they needed in the future (later verification maybe)? Please, advise. Thank you.

These files should be deleted automatically. I can only think of three explanations (maybe someone else can come up with more).
1. You somehow changed the permissions of the directory so the program can't delete them.
2. The program started working on the next exponent and you didn't notice that the x'es in pxxxxxxx and qxxxxxxx changed, so these are actually the save files of the next exponent to test.
3. You found a Mersenne prime. I think I have read somewhere that the program does not remove the files in the rare case a Mersenne prime is actually found. (But I guess you would already have noticed this then.)

Ha-ha, out of your three explanations, I would gladly pick #3. Unfortunately that is not the case. Also, these are definitely the files remaining from the long finished work (Jan 6), and I checked the properties of the files - they are archives. So, is it OK to delete in your opinion?

Feel free to delete them. Let me know if the problem persists and you can figure out why they aren't getting deleted.

These two files I deleted had this form: pL###### and qL###### as opposed to pX###### that other files look like. Is that the reason they would not be deleted by the program and why would that happened in the first place? Thanks

No. pL is for the 21 millions, pX is for the 33 millions. I have no idea why these weren't deleted automatically.
