I was sick over the weekend so I haven't had any time to work on the website, should only take a couple of days during this week. More news soon.

Default octo windows

I have had no luck with your windows exe, with/without cygwin.
I thought I was doing something wrong, but ....

I get the classic blink/close.

OK

Here are the instructions: download octo_3_5 exe from my homepage, copy that file in your c:\ directory, then go to the Start menu in windows, in Start menu choose Run, in that type: command
You get the MS-Dos window ( or what is this ) type in that: chdir c:\

And then type for example: octo_3_5 32 1 1000000000
if you are using octo_3_5 and you want to search for octoproths for n=32 and kmin=1 and kmax=1000000000 range. You'll get two solutions.

Ps I hope that your processor is Pentium, because this exe isn't works for Athlon ( somebody posted this fact ).

Yea bro, I tried that, .... no go.
I know it stinks to be disappointed like that.
It's probably something simple, but it's not me.

P4/Intel motherboard 2.0
xp pro SP2, with MS.NET framework 1.1.

I would type: cmd to get the windows command line utility.

command.com is added for backward comatibility with older MS-DOS programs

If you give "small ranges" for everyone ( for example there are 100 work units), say 10^14=kmax-kmin then your program will be suboptimal, because you can give 10^16=range but everyone will work only a step/100 range for g, in this case you can finish the whole range(=10^16) by 30% faster.
I haven't worked all of this out yet. I was expecting each work unit to be roughly 1 hours worth (for the average PC) or 30 minutes (for a top of the range fast PC).

The blink/close error only happens to me when I don't use cmd to run programs. When I'm using it, or:

1)The program gives its usage and exits
2)The program keeps waiting for the right syntax

Try running cmd.

Currently, I'm not working on any n.

n=241, kmin=1, kmax=1000000000000000, version=3.0

No octoproths.

I'm not doing any more work until a website is available to coordinate work.
