If there are no objections, seeing as there is little interest in this drive, I would like to reserve the remainder of the files on this drive.

No objections, IMO, but please keep us informed about your progress. For example, when you reach n=1.8M.

At the end, please send results to the address given in the first post, not to me. Thanks!

Thanks for the progress report, that's very fast! :surprised

Note that at about n=1967k you will have next FFT length jump, from 163k to 196k.

And here is the list of all 36 Ks being tested by the drive.

Beyond completed all 4165 tests in the 1680k-2M range, but found no primes.

Thus after 2 years and 10 months, the 3rd Drive is over.
Thanks to everybody who contributed.

Will unstick the thread shortly.

So there were ~9000 tests with no prime in this drive. Did we ever estimate the number of expected primes from the drive?

Many of my reservations are lower-weight k-values, and I wonder sometimes if they produce lower primes-per-test results than "normal" k-values. I suppose it's just small sample, or the human-nature wish for better-than-average luck.

I do not have excate figures but "back of envelope" calculations from all the low weight K's I've tested suggest the average is 1 prime / 10,000 candidates. YMMV

I'm quite happy to notice that the 3rd drive has been finished after it was stuck for more than a year. Unfortunately we didn't hit a prime in this drive.

Some of our long-term members might remember that I had another bunch of 23 low-weight k, which I tested beyond n=2M. During the last two months I did some extensive sieving and will reach p=100T by the end of this week. I also did some LLR testing and I'm close to n=2.5M now. Once reached p=100T the whole bunch will consist of about 61000 candidates (in the n=2.5-10M range), which is still too much for a single person to test in a couple of years. Therefore I'm willing to donate this bunch of k for another drive. Let me know about your opinions...
