Default Different kind of expiration glitch?

What does this mean? The assignment expires in -1 days, but is still reserved.

The server code expires old assignments when it is run. Since it doesn't run continuously then expirations are not done continuously. My guess is it runs once per day, and perhaps at other random times when the admin decides to run it manually.

Just be patient and wait for the server to get around to expiring the assignment, then the exponent will be free again and you can choose it for yourself.
