I saw an 11 on deg 6 before I ever saw 9 on deg 5. The poly-request-thread folks have this c205 in mind, but we won't get to it immediately. We should be ready to attack it not long after ECM is complete, but post here when ECM is done to remind us!

11,096 seems to be the final tally at 2900e6.

2018-11-06, 15:09 #59 VBCurtis     "Curtis" Feb 2005 Riverside, CA 22·13·89 Posts We have a poly, but before queueing it to NFS@home we ought to find someone willing to solve the matrix. The sieving can be done on 15e, but it's a stretch and would likely make the matrix 10-20% harder to solve. If Greg accepts it for 16e queue, we may have an easier time finding a matrix-solving volunteer. In the meantime, I've been hoping for C198-C202 to show up to try on 15e, to better see how bad an idea this C205 would be.

I have a couple of C198 GNFS jobs, but I am sieving them locally (I have a few hundred cores available) with 16e rather than putting them on the grid with 15e, because the 15e yields are just so much lower. I think C205 at 15e would be extremely wasteful.

I would be willing to do the linear algebra for a 16e C205 job, I believe I can now handle up to 100M matrices in a season or so on my fastest machine.
