 2003-10-08, 23:35 #1 Complex33     Aug 2002 Texas 5·31 Posts Server Factoring I was wondering what the value for current iteration was for factoring assignments. They are small numbers about 1 to 15 which don't seem to correspond to bit depths. Just curious.

For example, your machine is currently working on an iteration in the 2^66 range when it reports, and the factor was at 2^57 when your machine started, would give a "iteration" of 9. Just a guess, though....

Actually 1 to 16.

Except for the ones which are blank, which is the overwhelming majority.

And except for the one which is (currently) 3043374:

This looks like an LL test which for some bizarre reason has the "F" flag for a factoring assignment.

I don't think that's possible.

Consider 21723539 which was previously factored to 63. The current "iteration count" is 16, which would correspond to 79 bits according to your theory.

The iteration count does tend to increase over time. Maybe it's just a 16-pass factoring algorithm.
