You must wear a cap, hat, vest, jacket or rain gear of hunter orange when taking game during the established daylight shooting hours from Aug. 15 through April 30. Hunter orange includes camouflage that is not less than 50 percent hunter orange. The garments that are hunter orange must be the hunter’s outermost garment and must be visible from all sides of the hunter. Generally a good idea to be wearing orange if outdoors for any reason where hunting may occur. Especially hats and jackets.

It's surprising though how well red or even blaze orange on the move sort of blends in with a thick array of brown tree trunks nearer the viewer to give the impression of brown movement.

I've had fools shoot at me (maybe on purpose?) having "target practice" at squirrels while I was deeper in the woods off trail. Not a nice feeling hearing "zip,zip.." for no reason. Too bad squirrels and deer can't shoot back.

Gone, meaning traveled, with the intention to call, speak. There's no tape or other evidence of him having vocalized before the shot.
The average fatality rate for people in hunting areas during hunting season is lower than for the general population elsewhere during the same time period. That's partly because of well developed safety precautions and partly because the least healthy don't generally hunt or hike in hunting areas, and other hazards. The average weekend fatality rate in Chicago is higher than the annual hunting fatality rate of some entire states.

I don't imagine it would feel better, someone firing specifically at me for a reason. Game not possessing weapons beyond those evolution equipped them with is lucky for us. There is that "According to Jim" episode where a tom turkey fires a crossbow bolt into Jim's posterior.
