For wavefront Mersenne testing, the 3990x is best suited to running 8 workers -- there are 8 chiplets in this architecture. Only for huge FFT work does it make sense to use fewer workers.

I've been testing and 8 workers gives the best timings. Also in Linux seems faster. Currently I'm using Win11 Pro. |
