I agree. Perhaps, it would be safe enough to provide an option to download just all big enough primes from the database, or maybe multiple options with varying lower bound for prime lengths.

I would be happy to be part of that mirror.

Does Syd/Markus actually communicate with anyone here? He hasn't posted on mersenneforum for 4 years now, and he's never replied to any email I've sent him.

Ditto. Storage is cheap. Knowledge is priceless.

He's replied to emails I sent him. The last one was yesterday, noting that http://factordb.com/index.php?id=1100000001460173471 showed as PRP even though a certificate had been submitted some time ago. He replied that it was wrong in the database and he had fixed it.

But I've been careful to only send emails when I have something potentially interesting to say.

Apparently I'm either particularly uninteresting, or perhaps web.de is blocking emails from mersenne.ca (I've had that happen with another .de provider).
Did you email him from a common email provider like Gmail?

Doing a drill-down on an email from you a couple of years ago shows that Mersenne.CA has appriate SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records.

Having said that, the battle of getting legitimate email through the various filters (often a function of the SMTP provider(s)) is a never-ending battle between those who use email legitimately and those who make a *tiny* profit by spamming.

An excellent example of the tragedy of the commons.

It was t-online.de that has blacklisted my server (presumably to this day), because:

Dear Mr. Heinrich,

your website seems to be commercial. So we expcect that your contact
information, including the physical address of your business, is
available publicly.

Kind regards,
Deutsche Telekom AG
So, because I don't wish to publish (what, my home address?) on a contact page for mersenne.ca, my server is considered computa non grata and will never be able to send email to @t-online.de

You could try creating a gmail.com account for the purpose of sending email to people that block @mersenne.ca

I hope you don't think it is inappropriate when I say that in my opinion, that is a profoundly stupid idea.

I'm sorry but I do need to disagree.
An ISP blocking inbound mail to its users for poor reasons is stupid.
Using a Gmail (or similar) email account to work around such restrictions is a reasonable solution if you have no control over blocking that happens on the recipient's end.

Fair. I'm always welcoming of being corrected.

Again, fair.

At the end of the day, you're simply trying to get a message through.

Your SPF etc was sane. You shoulnd't need to go to GMail to establish trust.
