I don't have a RapidShare account (yet) and tried SendSpace unregistered (free). As the name implies, is RapidShare quicker for its free members? SendSpace is currently limited to 300MB and uploads at about 950kbps. I don't know what its download speed is. I presently have about 2GB of relations that will deflate about 50% with zip.

I am uploading a set right now, but it will be another half hour before it's done. I don't know if I can upload multiple files or if I'm limited to a single one. I'm about to see...

edit: ...It looks like there is no number limit, but SendSpace limits the upload speed, so the first one is slowed as the second one increases, but the overall upload is no better.

I'm always hesitant to register with yet another web entity, but I suppose it might be better for future use, too. I will seriously consider it and expect to decide tomorrow.

FWIW, in my experience Sendspace has always been somewhat faster than Rapidshare (unregistered in both cases, sending and receiving). Sendspace also doesn't make unregistered users wait 60 seconds before downloading a file (which got VERY annoying when I was postprocessing an earlier team sieve), and their upload limit is 300 MB vs. Rapidshare's 100 MB. Thus I've generally stuck with Sendspace for for my big-file-transfer needs.

That said, one thing that would push things over in Rapidshare's favor is if Mini-Geek has a paid membership with them, in which case things will indeed be faster on his end at least...that may be the case given his particular recommendation.

Thanks, I've received all of the relations, and started post-processing with ~31.2M relations (has started LA, ETA about 7 hours, will be able to report factors in about 10 hr).
