Textbook:
Georgi Shilov: Linear Algebra. Dover, probably 1960s. Study the first half or so. This book, though not directly on calculus or ODE, will give you quite a bit of insight into what people are doing in those courses, and make them *much* easier. Eigenvalues and eigenvectors make sense after you read this book. ExistenceUniqueness theorem takes on meaning.
