Congratulations to all of you PrimeFinders at PrimeGrid. I'm no longer contributing, since I've found other projects that I'm feeler more attached to at the moment, but when that is said, I'll add that I keep an eye on your project, and might actually rejoin it once you start searching for megaprimes :)
Regards! |

Congratulations!!!
21 single primes were found in the first week of n=333,333. However, as of today, only 7 have been added to the Primes Database. Currently, PG and TPS are ranked at 17th place (in terms of primes found) for projects. BTW, they will always be tied for now. Once the other primes are reported, it's a quick trip up to the top 10! ![]() Keep crunching!!! |

I have just sent out emails to the "owners" of the new primes, so we should rise in the rankings today. What's sad is that our biggest cruncher vs27 does not report primes or even respond :(

We will do that, but we have to allow some time. Some people don't check their emails too often.

Rytis, I'd suggest putting an announcement on the front page reminding people to check their e-mails, so that they can get credit for their primes on the top-5000 primes list.
But anyway, things are looking good. We've submitted 15 primes and are #12 on the top projects list (in terms of the number of primes found) ![]() |

FYI...stats about PG TPS's venture into the Top 5000 Primes database.
Between January 1st and February 4th, 214 primes were added to the database. 15 were by PG TPS. 143 of the 214 entered above PG TPS. The highest PG TPS entered was 2996. Currently the highest PG TPS can enter is 3029...a drop of 33 in one week. :( Doing some "fuzzy" estimates, if PG TPS is still searching for the twin n=333333 at the end of the year, the entry point will be ~4500. Let's find that n=333,333 twin so it can be in the top 5000. ![]() By years end, n=500,000 will no longer enter in the top 1000. It will be down from 834 to around 1500. n=666,666 will be down from 395 to around 800. n=1,000,000 will be down from 149 to around 200. This presumes that the current rate of discoveries will continue throughout the year. |

Neat, but...
Is there anything else you do but research primes? lol You sound like me when it comes to airplanes. |

(kind of off topic, and the question wasn't really addressed to me, but oh well...)
Actually, I was a track runner in high school. My mile time (1609 meter time for those of you outside the U.S.) was 4:35. I thought that was good, until I went to college and lost to top runners by the length of two football fields :surprised I still run for general fitness, but my main focus is on getting a degree in Computer Engineering and Computer Science, hopefully with a GPA of > 3.7. |
