Perhaps the number ISN'T of the form k*2^n+c? If it is of that form, the article is a bit of a fail.

To pay for a breast augmentation isn't the smartest thing to do, anyways. I would buy cool hardware instead anytime ;)

I take that back, they found 3 in one day, including a 440K digit find.

Of course, they do.
Alone a certain individual finds 1 per ~10-12 days (that's 120 core-days).
Ooops, just found one more.

.....you debate with yourself whether to run an automated conversion of RAW files to reduced JPGs in Adobe Bridge/Camera RAW/Photoshop because your P-1s will switch to LowMemory state, and your CPU and GPU production will go in the toilet while it is running.

You go to a computer store web site and fall into a state of helpless lust and rampant rationalization.

EDIT: Which reminds me... I got access to 7 Core2 Duo's, 2.3Ghz, and ~4 I think lesser "Penryn(Wolfdale)" Pentiums.

I wonder how the Core2 Duos would compare to my late, lamented Opteron dual core 2.4 GHz. I think the 8 year old mobo cratered. I tried two different psu's and still the fans wouldn't even twitch. I even looked at Socket 929 boards recently, since I have the RAM and the CPU and everything else. It was a pretty good P-1 machine running mprime.
