I'll process the results files as soon as I can get to them, which means probably sometime today, maybe tomorrow.

Well, I was processing the results files just now, and everything went just fine, until I checked for un-processed numbers. Lo and behold, it turns out we've got a whole load of them! Suspecting that I had missed one of Carlos's incremental results files, I re-downloaded them all from the beginning--but I'm still getting a bunch of outstanding n.
Karsten, can you please send me your copy of the complete results file for the C300 server? Maybe yours will be a little bit more complete than mine. ![]() |

Did you go to my page? One file it is still missing...I'll upload it as soon as I get free time.
Edit: Last results uploaded. A quick note, there's still a client connected to the server asking for some work. Edit2: http://celppinho.googlepages.com/nplb Last fiddled with by em99010pepe on 2008-03-24 at 18:44 |

Anon and Carlos,
We are still showing n=359.3K-370.0K on this LLRnet server as in progress on the 1st post of drive 1. I'm sure that was done long ago. Carlos, sorry if this is on your page. Can you tell me/us where your page is so that I don't have to sort through numerous threads/posts to find it? Anon, have the results for 359.3-370 been checked to see if they are all there? Once we confirm that range plus the 372-378 LLRnet server range, drive 1 will be complete to n=393K!! Shortly after that, I will post a list of results files that I'm missing from manual reservations. I have to cull them all together off of 3 different machines. Thanks, Gary |

Carlos, I'm still getting 5 outstanding k/n pairs left. Oh well, now that I've figured out a way to calculate that there's only five left (rather than hundreds as I originally feared), I'll just fill in those five myself.

I just finished crunching through the five missing k/n pairs--and now my program confirms that there are no more missing k/n pairs in the results file!
![]() I'll be sending the results to Gary and posting about it in the 1st Drive thread shortly. ![]() |

Thanks to both of you for taking care of this! Not only are we nearly complete for drive 2, we're nearly complete to n=393K for drive 1! Congrats everyone on a great effort!! BTW, Carlos, have you heard from Beyond lately? I haven't seen his typical slew of primes lately and he hasn't asked for any reservations. You had mentioned the heavy-hitter with 200 cores from Free-DC (or somewhere). I know that he was helping us with just a few cores. If Beyond is going to be away for a while working on other efforts or is done completely working on our effort, can you bring in the other person for more cores? On an unrelated note, I'm thinking of picking up a quad in the next couple of months. I want more personal processing power. Currently about 2/3rds of my resources are non-personal machines. Ideally I'd have about 100 personal cores at my disposal; maybe someday. lol If anyone knows the best way to buy a quad (sorry, you'll have to talk in non-computereze to a certain extent), I'd be happy to hear what people recommend. Best Buy didn't have any when I checked 2 months ago. Obviously they still aren't too commonplace. I think there was a couple advertised in a Dell flyer I got a month ago but quite expensive so I'm sure there'd be a better way to buy one. You have not seen any nplb primes or new request for reservations because nplb is on the back burner for a week to 10 days as I run llr test on the the backlog of sieved ranges I have been piling up on my own prime search while doing nplb.
My suggestion for a quad is build your own, much cheaper and built to your own needs rather than some one size fits all approach. 95% of my resources are at home, and all but one built from scratch. Infact bought the parts for another quad on Saturday, just need to find the time to put it together. |
