I have scripts for doing method 1. This is the one that will install 16 instances of the prpnet services. I used the primegrid install to create 16 directories and then these scripts to do the service installs.
The important part is changing paths as needed and the number of instances needed. Again I am not the one who originally came up with it but it was for d20l several years ago. |

(Though right now, both efforts are producing primes of effectively similar size anyway, so the net effect of this would be nil.) -When the PPS effort reaches n=670K, they plan to shift focus to the smaller k<1200 range (versus k<10000 as they've been doing thusfar) and higher n going up to 1M. They will thus be producing primes at a much slower rate once this begins. For NPLB, the upshot of all this is that we're essentially out of the woods now (at least for the next 4-6 months, which is how long it's estimated it will take for all the n=666666 primes to fall off the list given their expected reduced prime discovery rate). The one of our drives most in danger of being steamrolled was the 10th, currently just below 700K; now, we're free to concentrate on whatever we want to for the next 4-6 months. Our immediate priority is, of course, getting the 7th Drive finished to n=1M; we haven't totally worked out the plan after that but I think the idea is to target the 10th Drive next for a while. Gary can correct me if I'm wrong on this.
