After so many promises from BJ MET office for snow, related back to December, it is finally snowing here. Brexit has even damaged the Bristish weather forecast!

Not snowing here yet, though we had a very brief flurry yesterday.
We did get snow back in December and have images to prove it. Last fiddled with by xilman on 2021-01-24 at 12:16 |

Brexit just damaged power supply to the entire village the rascal, not ideal being in a modern build which is electric only. Intermittent power and at 150V instead of 230V, the slow cooked meal might be ready sometime next week ;)

Brexit did not damage the Portuguese wine week for lidl, first time Iβve seen it. Enjoy the Ermelinda, Entre Quintas and Torre de Ferro, all red wines. Last fiddled with by pinhodecarlos on 2021-01-24 at 13:28 |

In summer it's fine as the air source heat pump works well but in winter it's useless. The insulation is good so it's "only" ~Β£4 per day total on the coldest days, it averages out fine but in an ideal world you'd have an air-heat-pump/solar for summer and gas/wood/whatever for winter. Air source heat pump as the only "secondary" source is an eco-veiled excuse to not bother putting a proper secondary source in.
A brandy-based heating system is a good fallback, wine can work too ;) Last fiddled with by M344587487 on 2021-01-24 at 14:19 |

I have a problem with ASHP or GSHP on my projects, our baseline models are poor and most time nonexistent on a monthly basis and therefore very difficult to measure and verify the avoided energy costs against independent variables (weather, COP, occupancy). For this projects we try to claim RHI revenue but there's a tread-off between revenue and electricity bills (tariff too high against the RHI for heat), and this is always forgotten on the models. |
