Perhaps you mean Stirling cycle...

Nope, that GIF is most likely a simplified schematic of an air cooled radial piston internal combustion engine. A nearby university's Mechanical Engineering Department had a cut-open actual aircraft radial engine on display in the 1970s with that cylinder count and layout. IIRC it was designed for military aircraft used in WWII, with outstanding specific fuel consumption and other specifications for its time, rotatable by hand on the truncated prop blades, and with deburring/edge breaks but no finger guards at the cuts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pratt_...ey_Wasp_series

Stirling engines are external combustion or other heat source and consequently have several times the heat exchange requirement per unit of output power: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stirling_engine

Internal combustion engines, for fuel input Q, produce roughly Q/3 output work, Q/3 cooling system load, Q/3 heat content of the exhaust flow, while external combustion engines like the Stirling engine of equal efficiency need Q heat exchange in, 2Q/3 heat exchange out; 5Q/3 total heat exchange, versus Q/3 for the internal combustion engine; 5-fold higher. Plus Stirling engines typically operate at lower hot side temperature, so lower absolute temperature ratio, lower theoretical maximum efficiency, increasing the heat exchange/work output ratio above 5:1.

There is nothing like a joke killer...

To paraphrase your post in another thread, did you click my link? I mean, before giving such a long, futile talk (in a joke thread, no one give a duck about such complex technical details, and noone will find them ever after a week or two), and before posting the same link again? (not mentioning quoting the whole previous post, image included).

the primality test of the Mersenne number you are testing is almost complete, and you are dying for a pee, but you will not go to the loo until your computer reports whether the number is prime or not.

the police raid your house looking for a cannabis factory, suspecting you have one due to the amount of heat being generated.

(It is fairly common in the UK for the police to use thermal imaging cameras in helicopters to search for areas where a lot of heat is generated. A friend with a large amount of land, and big outbuildings, says he often sees them scanning his property. He waves at them.)

You just might be addicted to GIMPS iff... relying only on the server to get assignments.
