I scrolled through few posts and mfakto wiki but I didn't get the idea how to use it with Primenet and with mprime itself.
For now I'm using CPU-based mprime program (the default one from mersenneproject and this is plug'and'play even on dozens on computers) but on few servers I have several FirePro S9150 GPUs so I wanted to try those also. What is the strategy then? Does mprime is supposed to make any work then or is this only to run occasionally to get assignments / send the results from/to the Primenet and it is the mfakto to get the jobs from "worktodo.txt" file? How to make that working? |

Prime95/mprime is the only program with builtin server communication. All other programs (such as mfakto) require you to "manually" fill the worktodo.txt file, which mfakto reads. A lot of people use separate communication scripts to automate this, but for you, I'd just start the first few TF assignments by hand. Once you have practice with mfakto, then you can search around for the other available scripts to automate it better.
