Post here before starting on a new range. 2.) Choose the lowest range available, but your range can be of any size. 3.) When you're done with the range, post any primes here (even if they aren't twin primes), and mark the range as complete. Remember, we're looking for primes of the form k*2^195000 +/ 1. Only k changes; the n remains at 195000 until we find a new twin prime. Use NewPGen's "twin search" feature. Do not click "include even values of k." On second thought, the ranges should be a bit bigger than that. I'll go to 10M instead.

I strongly recommend to distribute the sieving part as well.
If the exponent is fixed, the sieving speed does not slow down significantly if the range is larger. So Sieving a 10G range is just a few percent slower than sieving 1M (when sieving passes 1G). (I have 80M/sec at 1T with a 10G range) So, if you de distributed sieving, and sieve 1000 times as far (together), you can save 40 % of the LLR tests.

If you all know how to use a wiki, we could very simply organize everything with a mediawiki (http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki)...
We only need someone to host it, and a little explainations. By example, a category 'reserved ranges' could autoindex all ranges... well, hard to explain but easy to do ;) (could an admin split these last posts into a new topic?)

Personally I don't like wiki style for project like this, if we vote I vote for a classic web site like GIMPS or distributed.net.
Anyway I accept the decisions of this group.

I also like web sites like distributed.net, but IMO gimps website (if we hadn't this forum) is not very practical, by example when you seek something it's not easy to find it...
and the other problem with websites is that someone would have to spend a lot of time into php programming, because if we don't want anybody to have the ftp & sql passwords, we will need an admin panel to modify things, etc...

1100K MooooMoo (complete) 100K1M John Renze 1M1.5M victor (complete) 1.5M10M John Renze 10M15M victor 15M20M MooooMoo 20M or higher  available In case there's future confusion, I'd like to add that 15M20M is 15,000,001 to 20,000,000, NOT 15,999,999 to 20,999,999.  pacionet and victor, It'd be really nice if one of you created a web site for this, but it's not that necccessary now. It might be needed as the project expands, though, so if you want to create one, I'd suggest the format of distributed.net. I don't really like wiki style for websites.  biwema, Distributed sieving is nice, but I prefer to wait until we have more members. There're a lot of problems involved with distributed sieving (design of a factor submission page, automatically updating the remaining k's file, etc.). Also, I'm not sure whether LLRers would enjoy updating their files on a dailiy basis. However, if you want to sieve, you're welcome to sieve a range from 1000M10000M or so. By the time we reach that range, we can download your sieve output files and LLR test the remaining k's.
