Anybody else on here remember way back when about 36 had been found, someone insisting (seemingly out of a religious belief), that no more than 37 would be found?

Looking at the graphs on PrimeNet, after the announcement of the new prime there was a bump in assignments. First it was a lot of DC's and some first time. Now that machines have turned in good DC's there is an increase in first time results and DC results have slid down.

Mersenne primes would be hard to do this with given their low concentrations. I did figure someone could turn factoring at sufficiently high bitrates into value.
