Sierp. base 23 is now completed to n=135K; no primes yet on this pesky last remaining k (68).
![]() Based on my the testing times I'm getting so far (~2300 sec. at n=135K), I'm estimating that the current sieve depth should be good up until a the next couple FFT jumps. Thus, I'll continue testing this base to n=150K. ![]() (Note: Even though the results I've attached for 125K-135K are in LLR format, they were really done with Phrot. However, I had to switch to a different Phrot version in the middle of the test due to a little [since-fixed] bug regarding resuming from an already-started input file. And since the two different versions produce slightly different results formats, I figured that the easiest way to get the whole range's results in a unified format would be to convert them to LLR format. ![]() |

Pesky? Try the final k on Sierp base 12. lol Status...complete to n=220K. Nothing to report. Ergh. Even worse...the final k on Sierp base 9 at n=285K. Of course than there's Sierp bases with one k remaining for base 10 at 195K, 17 at 240K, 18 at 235K, and 27 at 400K! All toll; 7 Sierp bases <= 32 with 1 k remaining; all now at n=135K or higher, 6 at n=195K or higher, and 5 at n=220K or higher. (sheesh) Gary |

Sierp base 31 is now complete to n=10K. I'm going to take it up to n=25K. At that point, it should have less k's remaining than either Riesel or Sierp base 19.
110 k's were found prime for n=9.2K-10K. 1934 k's now remain. k's remaining shown on the web pages. Gary |

![]() Karsten, Nice prime! This also knocks out k=57462 for Riesel base 36. That is: 57462*36^60549-1 is prime! Question: Would you consider releasing Riesel base 6 at n=150K? I think it would be nice to run it as a team drive with a PRPnet server like we're doing with Sierp base 6. The Sierp side is nearing completion to n=130K with the 3 lowest k's being tested to n=150K first before resuming the rest of them higher. I'm asking because even with only 11 k's still remaining at n=125K on the Riesel side, it is still unlikely to be proven in the next decade or more, even with a big team effort on it. Thanks, Gary Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2009-01-05 at 13:16 Reason: base 36 prime |

Thanks for the huge amount of work on this base Micha. For everyone's reference, as implied in Micha's Email to me, he is unreserving this base. Although I am showing it as unreserved on the pages, it's going to take me a little while to update them and clean up the sieve file that he has provided up to n=100K so that it can be posted. I'll probably take care of it as well as many other updates on the pages after I get back from my current trip...likely Thurs. or Fri. Gary |

I got a PM from Karsten saying that he would release Riesel base 6 at n=150K.
Max, let's plan on getting all k's on Sierp base 6 up to n=150K and then pausing if Karsten isn't there yet. We'll then discuss how we want to attack this entire base. It should be an excellent base for a combined team drive using new PRPnet. Gary |

![]() Of course, if we did decide to hold off on doing Sierp. base 6 for >150K until the Riesel side is ready at that same level, then we could have the PRPnet server spend some time doing other things, say, some of the bases <32 that have only one or two k's remaining. It would be really nice to see a few of those knocked off--and many of them have sieve files already prepared. |
