Default error message

my prime 95 has this message of error:
unable to open spool file
unable to open log file
no work to do at the present time. Waiting.

Why?

If you installed Prime95 on Windows under the Programs folder, Windows won't let it change files there. Try installing it in its own folder away from the Programs folder.

"Finally, note that where you install GIMPS applications matters. The folder must have adequate permissions set to allow the program, save files, log files, worktodo file, batch files or shell scripts, etc to be created, read, written, modified, executed. That generally makes a subfolder of Program Files on Windows systems a poor choice. After the "unable to open" errors are eliminated, sign up for PrimeNet to deliver work and accept results automatically. Configure preferred type of work, and resource limits such as memory to use for P-1.
