Default Configuring Factoring Assignments With Sprime

I've recently started using sprime 24.14 on a PC running MEPIS Linux. I've been using it for LMH work (without PrimeNet). This was set up by manually editing the prime.ini and local.ini files appropriately.

I'd now like to configure it to work on PrimeNet assigned factoring work exclusively. It's not clear to me how to do this. The windows version of the software (prime95) allows you to do this through the "Test | PrimeNet" ... menu. I'm assuming the sprime equivalent would amount to modifying the ini files but I can't see which options to select. The only option that seems remotely likely is in prime.ini "WorkPreference=1". Can someone shed some light on how to configure sprime for factoring work?

It is indeed the "WorkPreference=" parameter in the prime.ini files.
0 = let PrimeNet decide
1 = factoring
2 = LL testing
4 = LL Double-checking
8 = unknown (future P-1 factoring ? an obsolete setting ?)
16 = 10M digit testing
By adding those powers of two one can include more than one type of work in the preferences, 5 would be factoring and double-checking f.i.

Run sprime with -m command line argument, as in "./sprime -m"

This will give you a text based menu similar to the Windows menu.

Thanks guys for the excellent suggestions and useful information. This software never ceases to amaze me. I seem to learn something new about it every week. I'm not sure how I missed the -m option when scanning through the readme.txt.

Chuck Norris doesn't need software. He factors exponents in his head.

I thought the exponents had to ask him how they should be factored
