I've just checked all of the primes found in the rally and their +1 counterparts. No twins were found.
edit: The rally thread has now been unsticked. Last fiddled with by Oddball on 2011-01-17 at 19:02 |

The n=480K-485K, k<100K range is complete, so here's the breakdown of primes found:
n=480K-481K: 6 primes n=481K-482K: 8 primes n=482K-483K: 8 primes n=483K-484K: 1 prime n=484K-485K: 8 primes k=1-20K: 10 primes k=20K-40K: 10 primes k=40K-60K: 1 prime k=60K-80K: 5 primes k=80K-100K: 5 primes It looks like the prime distribution is more uneven over ranges of k than over ranges of n. |

With PFGW 3.4.4:
148323*2^483356+1 is composite: RES64: [627C0FF8924559E6] This matches Lennart's result. Maybe Oddball's was with a different algorithm that produces incompatible residues. |

matches Oddball's residue, but using PFGW gives the same residue as yours. |

Mini-Geek and Lennart: you appear to have used PFGW for your tests. Since it does a PRP test, its residues will be incompatible with those from LLR, which does a Proth (full primality) test. Oddball appears to have used LLR, hence the discrepancy. For base 2, you generally want to stick with LLR for consistency purposes.
